写在前面：
今天分享一本个人非常喜欢的绘本。作者在获奖时曾经说过：我只用了一小时就写完了整本绘本的内容，没作任何修改。
然后插画师配上图画后，这本绘本便获得了1982年的凯迪克大奖。
什么绘本竟如此厉害，一起来看看吧~
When I Was Young in the Mountains
《山中旧事》
绘本讲述的一个小女孩，回忆自己童年时与祖父祖母和表兄妹住在一起的点点滴滴。不做过多描述，大家自行感受一下作者的才华！
绘本赏析：
When I was young in the mountains, Grandfather came home in the evening covered with the blackdust of a coal mine.
Only his lips were clean, and he used them to kiss the top of my head.
记得小时候我住在山中，外公很晚才回来，身上带着一身黑黑的煤灰，只有嘴唇是干净的，于是他那带着煤渣的吻便落在我的额头上。
When I was young in the mountains, Grandmother spread the table with hot corn bread, pinto beans and fried okra.
记得小时候我住在山中，外婆会为我们张罗热乎乎的玉米面包、油煎秋葵和斑豆。
Later, in the middle of the night, she walked through the grass with me to the johnny-house and held my hand in the dark.
I promised never to eat more than one serving of okra again.
后来，到半夜的时候，祖母牵着我的手，穿过黑夜的草地，带我到户外的茅房，我保证再也不会贪吃过量的秋葵。
When I was young in the mountains, we walked across the cow pasture and through the woods, carrying our towels.
The swimming hole was dark and muddy, and we sometimes saw snakes, but we jumped in anyway.
记得小时候我住在山中，我们常带上毛巾，穿过牧场，走过树林，去到又黑又泥泞的水库里。
有时我们还能看见蛇，但是尽管这样，我们还是会跳进去游泳。
On our way home, we stopped at Mr. Crawford’s for a mound of white butter. Mr. Crawford and Mrs.
Crawford looked alike and always smelled of sweet milk.
回家的路上，我们会在克劳福的店铺前停下来买很多白色奶油。克劳福先生和克劳福太太看起来可真像，而且他们身上总有一股甜甜的牛奶香味。
When I was young in the mountains, we pumped pails of water from the well at the bottom of the hill, and heated the water to fill round tin tubs for our baths.
记得小时候我住在山中，我们从山脚的水井里抽起一桶桶水，把水烧热，然后装满锡制的圆浴盆来洗澡。
Afterward we stood in front of the old black stove, shivering and giggling, while Grandmother heated cocoa on top.
洗澡后，我们站在早已被熏黑的火炉前取暖，虽然冷得直打哆嗦，可还是一个劲地咯咯笑，外婆则在炉子上煮可可豆。
When I was young in the mountains, we went to church in the schoolhouse on Sundays,
and sometimes walked with the congregation through the cow pasture to the dark swimming hole, fo rbaptisms.
记得小时候我住在山中，每周日我们都会到校舍的教堂做礼拜。有时会和教会的人们一起穿过牧场去到阴翳的水库里观看洗礼。
My cousin Peter was laid back into the water, and his white shirt stuck to him, and my Grandmother cried.
我的表兄皮特被缓缓放到水里，他的白衬衫贴在身上，然后外婆就流泪了。
When I was young in the mountains, we listened to frogs sing at dusk and awoke to cowbells outside our windows.
Sometimes a black snake came in the yard, and my Grandmother would threaten it with a hoe.
记得小时候我住在山中，黄昏时我们能听到青蛙鸣叫，清晨我们在窗外的牛铃声中醒来。
有时会有黑黑的大蛇爬到院子里，外婆就会拿起锄头驱赶它。
If it did not leave, she used the hoe to kill it. Four of us once draped a very long snake, dead of course, across our necks for a photograph.
如果它还不走，外婆就会用锄头除掉它。有一次我们四个人一起披上一条很长的蛇拍照，当然那条蛇是死的。
When I was young in the mountains, we sat on the porch swing in the evenings, and Grandfather sharpened my pencils with his pocketknife.
Grandmother sometimes shelled beans and sometimes braided my hair.
The dogs lay around us, and the stars sparkled in the sky. A bobwhite whistled in the forest.
Bob-bob-bobwhite!
记得小时候我住在山中，我们晚上坐在门廊的秋千上，外公用他随身的小刀给我削铅笔。
外婆有时会剥豆子，有时给我编头发。狗狗们就在我们周围趴着，星星在夜空中闪闪发光。一只美洲鹑在森林中低鸣。
When I was young in the mountains, I never wanted to go to the occean, and I never wanted to go to the desert.
I never wanted to go to anywhere eles in the world, for I was in the mountains. And that was always enough.
记得小时候我住在山中，我从不向往海洋，也不向往沙漠，更不向往世界的任何其他地方。因为我觉得住在山里，我就很满足了。
怎么样？是不是觉得写得十分好，真不敢相信是一个小时完成的文学作品。但是事情确实如此。
相信你肯定也像我一样好奇，如此有才的作者，到底是何方人也？让我们一起来八一八这个作者吧！
作者简介：
When I Was Young in the Mountains《山中旧事》的作者是美国著名的儿童作家以及诗人Cynthia Rylant（辛西娅·赖蓝特）。
她一生创作过100多部儿童文学作品。除了绘本创作之外，她还写过儿童短篇小说。曾获得过2次纽伯瑞儿童文学大奖，以及2次凯迪克大奖，还有其他儿童文学创作大奖等。
《山中旧事》是辛西娅的处女作，一出手便获得美国凯迪克大奖。她的其他作品也十分出色。例如：

她的非虚构类作品，很多都是描绘了阿巴拉契亚地区的景物，还描绘了阿巴拉契亚人们生活的简单和温馨。
童年没有阅读过文学作品的文学家
创作出这么多具有丰富文学价值的作品，然而辛西娅的童年却十分平淡，甚至是惨淡。
辛西娅出生于退伍陆军家庭，4岁父母离异。母亲是一名护士，很少有时间陪伴她，一年只见3、4次；而父亲在辛西娅的印象中也很模糊。
辛西娅4岁开始就和外公外婆住在美国东部的阿巴拉契亚山区。她自己曾经说过，她的童年正好是美国经济大萧条时期。
所以小时候没有看过正式的儿童读物，最多的时光就是在山里面玩，以及观察山里的动植物。或许正式因为这样，锻炼了她细腻敏感的观察能力。
她的很多著名作品，都是基于童年生活创作的。辛西娅笔下很多都是阿巴拉契亚山脉附近的动物和户外景物。
她的书大多数是站在儿童的立场去感受家庭生活的欢乐与艰辛。她笔下的人物往往跟自己的性格十分相像，是孤独，但勇于面对困难的。
具有浓厚文学情怀的作家
其实从辛西娅很多作品都能看出，她是一位具有非常浓厚文学情怀的作家。
换起人们对简单乡村生活的美好回忆。在水库游泳，在厨房洗澡，悠闲惬意的家庭时光；诗意文本，朦胧场景，换起每个人心里如诗般的回忆。

不知道你阅读完有没有这样的感受呢？
游泳水库、锡盘洗澡、户外茅房、社区教堂、以及随处可见的生物等等，都具有一股浓浓的人文气息以及诗意。
好的作品是有感染力的，虽然没有在山上长久居住过，但是也能感受到作者笔下带来的愉悦、简单温馨的山中生活。
这样的感觉是人类共通的，不受年龄、地域和时间的限制。只要用心阅读便能感受到！
结语：
现在我们的生活，感觉最缺的就是诗和远方；即使没有远方，至少也让我们和孩子在诗一般的文字作品中享受一番吧！
