廖彩杏老师秉持“不必先认单字、不必先学音标、不必先学文法、不必中文翻译，没有抽问考试”的“四不一没有”原则，透过定时定量英文输入，对于英语启蒙刚入门、工作繁忙的家长来说，方法也是简单容易操作。廖彩杏老师指出，孩子持续学习英语的能力，取决于父母的英语观念，而非英语水平。她的方法与简介符合第二语言学习的新理论成果，并且着眼于中国儿童的语言学习习惯，可操作性强，易于家庭实践。
廖彩杏给我们推荐了100本优秀英文绘本书单，她自己给孩子推荐的这些经典的原版英文绘本，按照“定量、定时、循环”的原则，自己在家就可以创造孩子学习英语的好环境，一年52周100本英文绘本书目清单和阅读计划，非常有效地给孩子启蒙英语。廖彩杏认为，「不论学习何种语言，在开口说话的初期，童谣都是最适合用来发展听觉与口语优势的材料」。
她认为不用翻译，直接播放就好。让孩子耳聆听、手翻阅鹅妈妈的书，大孩子会自然认识单词。
廖彩杏推荐书单第一阶段：重复性的押韵绘本
第一阶段主要目的在于养成音感与听力，是以有重复性的押韵绘本为主。《My Very First Mother Goose》是她最推荐的第一步书，这本书包含了英文发音的四十四种音素，是让听觉敏锐，进而朗朗上口的最好方法。”
就如同小时候玩游戏时会念的“小老鼠，上灯台””或“小皮球，香蕉油一般，《My Very First Mother Goose》所收录的押韵诗歌，主要是透过押韵的诵读来培养语感。“重复”是她替孩子选择英文绘本的重要原则。从一开始的“句型、句子重复”，到因地点、情境、对象不同，用字也会不同的“概念重复”。
像《Go Away, Mr. Wolf !》 每一次大灰狼出现，「Knock、Knock、Knock！Who’s knocking at our little front door? Three little pigs quickly shuttheir door.」都会出现，总计出现了五次。
对于刚刚开始启蒙的孩子来说，这种重复会让孩子觉得，这段前面出现过啊，从而不会感觉压力那么大。很多音频有读、唱、大人读小孩子跟读，有些音频和绘本不完全一样。音频节奏明快，很好听，连我听了都忍不住跟着学唱，像《Today Is Monday》，《Do you wantto be my friend》等
廖彩杏推荐书单第二阶段：风格幽默或角色重复的图画书
让孩子从大量“阅听”自然衔接到“阅读”，而非一开始就要求孩子学习认字。因此，透过“声音”捕捉“意义”是学习语言的第一步，第二阶段才是透过字义、字音的连结来认识字形。
苏斯博士搜集大量韵脚相同的单字，组成一个个很无厘头、却又趣味横生的句子。不论是《Hop On Pop》，《Dr. Seuss'sABC》、或是《The Cat in the hat and Other Dr. SeussFavorites》中所收录的《Horton Hatchesthe Egg》等，都是让小朋友们爱不释手的有趣绘本故事。
廖彩杏推荐书单第三、四阶段：知识性的主题绘本
第三阶段是让孩子自然而然熟悉专业领域的字汇，她透过图文并茂的知识性、自然科学主题绘本来达到这个目的。例如由Scholastic（学乐）出版的【I AM】系列，是她为孩子们选择的，用来拓展知识广度的启蒙英文绘本书籍。在《I Am a Leaf》、《I Am a Seed》等一系列书籍中，以孩子深感兴趣的大自然为主题，让“光合作用”、“叶绿素”……这些原本似乎很难理解的知识性词汇，很容易就能被吸收学习。 重在实践，认真执行书单，把期待埋在心里，你会收获意外！
